Tiny Owls Baby Home in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa, offers care for abandoned and relinquished babies awaiting adoption. If you’re looking for a proper late-night party this weekend, PULSE at The Bunker is bringing all the underground warehouse rave energy on 16 May. Expect tech-house, minimal, and prog beats, crazy lights, dark futuristic vibes, and a dancefloor packed with people dressed head-to-toe in black. The lineup is stacked with local DJs keeping the energy high from 9pm right through to 4am. Think fishnets, leather, bass, and nonstop dancing with a crowd that’s there to fully lose itself in the music. Tickets start from R200 presold, R250 for general access, and R300 at the door. Looking for something different this weekend? Baked Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet is bringing pure chaos, comedy, and trippy theater vibes to The Doppery at The Spice Yard in Salt River on 15 and 16 May. Expect hilarious audience interaction, dramatic sword fights, wild musical moments, and a totally unhinged take on Shakespeare’s classic love story. Doors open at 6pm so you can grab a drink and a bite before the show starts at 8pm. Tickets range from R100 to R180, but door tickets will cost you R200, so booking early is the move. Catch the show at The Spice Yard, 100 Voortrekker Road, Salt River, with cocktails, beer on tap, and plenty of Friday night energy to keep the vibes going. No under 18s.

Cape Town Meadery is hosting a laid-back guided tasting at GEMBER DISTILLERY, Muizenberg, and it’s perfect for anyone curious about craft drinks, fermentation, and a bit of history. Over two hours, you’ll taste 8–9 different meads while hearing stories about how this ancient honey-based drink has been enjoyed across the world and throughout Africa for centuries.
Expect good vibes, interesting flavours, and plenty of fun facts along the way. Light snacks are included too. The tasting takes place from 11am to 1pm. Tickets start from R120, and it’s strictly no under 18s. A great Saturday outing if you’re keen to sip something new with friends.
